“My experience at Chelsea Cosmetics was amazing. From my consultation and procedure to my follow up appointments, Dr Mark and his team were kind, professional and informative. I am extremely impressed with my results and I have been recommending Chelsea Cosmetics to all of my friends. A very friendly and safe environment for anyone who has any nervousness or anxiety around cosmetic work – they are true professionals.” – Jordan Altis
“I am so incredibly happy with the results I got from a blepharoplasty and chin liposuction. I have always had hooded eyes and as I aged they became heavy and uncomfortable. I decided on the chin lipo and have not looked back. The staff are kind, caring and professional. I will be coming here for anything I need in the future. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.” – Madison Connors

Types of liposuction available
We offer different types of liposuction surgery depending on your individual needs, such as conventional, Power-Assisted (PAL), Ultrasound-Assisted (UAL) and Laser-Assisted (LAL) (SmartLipo or SlimLipo).
Each procedure has pros and cons and could be most suitable for your individual situation.
What should you expect from a liposuction procedure?
Liposuction is a surgical procedure where fat is suctioned out of the body through a small tube known as a cannula. Once you arrive at your appointment, the areas to be treated will be cleaned and marked with lines or circles. Photos will be taken for comparison. From here, the process differs depending on your selected treatment.
The use of tumescent anaesthesia means modern liposuction is free from many of the post-surgery complications that plagued traditional liposuction procedures.
The surgeon will begin by injecting a sterile solution designed to anaesthetise, aid fat removal, and constrict the blood vessels of the area to be treated. This section of the skin will swell and stiffen prior to surgery. From there, the surgeon will perform minor incisions to insert the cannula under the skin. Attached to a vacuum, this cannula will suction the fatty tissues and fluids from your body.
Power-assisted liposuction (PAL) is an even more advanced version of the procedure and offers greater surgical control. Also using tumescent anaesthesia, in this procedure the cannula is attached to a motorised handpiece, which gently sends micro-vibrations down into the subcutaneous fat beneath the skin. These vibrations will gently loosen the fat, resulting in easier suction and less tissue trauma than traditional liposuction. PAL is ideal for a wide range of areas.
Unlike traditional liposuction where a sterile solution is injected, ultrasonic-assisted liposuction (UAL) uses a handpiece emitting ultrasonic waves to turn fat into liquid before it is removed through the cannula. Generally, UAL is used for particularly stubborn fatty deposits, such as on the stomach, hips, thighs and back.
LAL (Slim Lipo):
Laser-assisted liposuction (LAL) uses state-of-the-art laser technology to remove unwanted fat. Slim Lipo is one such procedure, designed to bridge the gap between traditional liposuction and non-surgical alternatives.
Instead of the cannula being pushed deep into the skin, a probe is gently inserted into the fat layer, and dual laser wavelengths target the skin and fat cells respectively. This liquefies fat and tightens skin at the same time, and is the reason why Slim Lipo is widely regarded as one of the safest and most effective procedures available.

Where on the body can I get liposuction?
We provide liposuction to almost all areas of the body where stubborn fat refuses to leave, such as arms, breast reduction, double chin, face, liposuction specifically for men, and stomach liposuction.
How long does recovery take?
For traditional liposuction surgery, recovery time is usually within the 3-4 week range.
That is often why Slim Lipo is the preferred procedure for eligible candidates, as recovery time is very rapid. Downtime after Slim Lipo fat removal surgery downtime is often only 3-4 days, and many patients can return to work within 2 days of their procedure. Generally, a compression garment will need to be worn on the treated area for around 4-6 weeks.
More specific information and Slim Lipo eligibility can be provided during your consultation.
How much does liposuction cost?
The price of liposuction will vary depending on the area to be treated and the time spent performing the procedure. Traditional liposuction or power-assisted liposuction can start at $2990 per area, with price variations depending on the area of focus. These prices include the following:
- Surgeon fees
- Theatre and hospital fees
- Anaesthetist fees
- Post-operative care
- Post-operative garments
